Operational Readiness for Greenfield Copper Mine in Latin America

July 22, 2021

Bluefield AMS assisted a greenfield copper mine in Latin America to ensure their fleet was generating full value from Day 1 through deploying effective operational readiness.

Problem

Our client, a greenfield copper mine operation in Latin America, was about to take delivery of their mining fleet.

The site needed experienced people to assist with the development of the asset management plans and optimised spares for the copper concentrator.

The fleet consisted of:

  • 4 x 4100 shovels
  • 24 x T282 trucks
  • Associated ancillary fleet

Solution

Bluefield was able to quickly develop the fleet asset management plans and use our specialists with English and Spanish capability to develop detailed documents that would support the local teams.

We were able to utilise our spares selection process and save our client many millions of dollars by stocking the required spares for the concentrator, not just what the OEM advises.

Subsequent to the development of the documentation, Bluefield was engaged to assist the site to develop the right reliability culture within the local workforce.

The Results

Detailed documents as required to support the local workforce who are still developing their knowledge and experience with ultra-class mining fleet.
